Dear Friend:

South Shore Elder Services, Inc. is the designated Aging Services Access Point and Area Agency on Aging for eleven communities on the South Shore. We have been providing services to older people and their caregivers in Braintree, Cohasset, Hingham, Holbrook, Hull, Milton, Norwell, Quincy, Randolph, Scituate and Weymouth since 1977.

Our mission is to promote and maintain an optimal level of elder independence through the coordination of resources, advocacy and caregiver support.

South Shore Elder Services is committed to providing quality services to elders, caregivers and community members. We work closely with each consumer to deliver services that reflect individual needs, personal choice and self-determination based on the consumer’s values, culture and lifestyle.

One of the primary ways we offer support is to provide information on topics and issues relevant to older people and those who care for them.  We designed this guide to assist you when you need a quick and easy reference to the resources in our communities.  For this year’s edition, we have expanded the booklet to include more information and resources in the hope that it will be even more helpful.

South Shore Elder Services as well as your local Council on Aging, stand ready to help you find answers about services for elders and caregivers.  Please call us at 781-848-3910, or look up the number for your Council on Aging in the listings on page 26 and 27.

Sincerely yours,

Edward J. Flynn, Jr.
